DAY 24:
Cheese straws
Make these easy, cheesy straws! Only 5 ingredients: Flour, butter, cheese, 2 egg yolks and a pinch of salt.
How to make:
- Put 375g of plain flour and a pinch of salt in a bowl.
- Rub in 225g of butter, using your fingertips until it looks like breadcrumbs.
- Add 150g of cheddar cheese and both egg yolks and mix! (You could add a pinch of Cayenne pepper for an extra kick).
- Add extra water (about 5 tablespoons) to bind the dough together into a ball.
- Roll flat and cut into strips.
- Place on a baking tray in the oven -190c / gas mark 5, for 15 minutes or until golden brown.
