DAY 27:

Paper folding

Have a go at making a paper helicopter. Mark out the lines on a piece of paper or card and cut out the template. You can use some scrap paper or some recycled cardboard. Fold along the black lines and snip along the hashed lines.

Once you have made your helicopter, stretch your arm up high above your head and let go of the helicopter. You will see it twirling to the ground. They look like sycamore seeds as they fall to the ground.

If you would like a paper template, please ask your key person.

Share photos or comment on our posts showing us your paper helicopter, using our hashtag #30daysFroebel.

‘Froebel emphasised the mathematical nature of paper folding, prompting the understanding of geometrical as well as arithmetical concepts.’ (Michael Friedman 2018)
