DAY 29:
Peg doll
Make your own peg doll. Collect some leaves, stick, twigs and grass from you garden or on a local walk. Use glue or string to attach these to your peg doll and watch your doll come to life.
Peg dolls are a great way for children to build a story in their play or create the character they want to play with. Please ask one of the Nursery staff if you would like a peg.
Share photos or comment on our posts showing us your dolls, using our hashtag #30daysFroebel.
Froebel realised that children who are sung to and told stories begin to create their own characters and narratives. They become symbol-users because they are introduced to symbols appropriately, and they become symbol-makers and creators. (Tina Bruce 2017)
